A night to remember

When I should be sleeping, it's 12:06 AM on the net-book screen. I've just got back from Ustaz's. Much or less 30 minutes ago. For a good cause indeed, which is to listen to the same guest of honour, Captain James Yusuf Yee from last night's Fundraising dinner for Home of Hopes talking about his personal experience. Tonight we went further into detail on how he got really started in being a muslim himself. And from what he would call from a simple muslim to a muslim that dig into deeper to understand Islam afterwards.

Sharing this to my readers should be a great way to start a new day. With much hope, the sun will shine as bright as the egg when it rises. Egg ? Yes egg.

Understandable I believe (:

Alhamdulillah, being there with Ustaz's, Captain and the others last night was a way of God trying to keep me on track with Him and a privileged I believe God gave me to extend my knowledge and share it with the others. And that is why I'm putting this publicly. InsyaAllah many will benefit as much as I do.

First of all, let me introduce you to Captain James Yusuf Yee, the Former U.S. Army Muslim Chaplain in Guantanamo Bay and one of the first Muslim Chaplain in the U.S.

Captain James Yusuf Yee was converted (as he would like to be preferably called. Instead of reverted) on April 1991. Maa faced me right in the face after he told us about this. I figured well, it was because of my sister, Wowo was born during that time around. Well nothing in relation to Captain James experience though. I'm refreshing things well now that I can still remember each and every detail. At least for now, insyaAllah.

As we went back to Captain James Yusuf Yee story, he grew up in Springfield, New jersey and was raised as a Christian. His mum is a strong believer in Christianity and have been that way since he was a child. Meanwhile, his dad is a secular and did not practice anything whatsoever. Every Sunday until he's in 8th grade, his mother will take him to the Sunday class at the church. Eventually, he was led by his mother to join in the Youth group there. He will be sitting in the Church with a pastor twice a week during the Youth group session together with the other Youth group member learning about Christianity. During 8th grade, he was being confirmed to have completed learning. That is when his mother gave him the freedom whether or not to attend the usual Sunday class because she decided he had gained everything he needs to know to keep his faith in being a Christian.

When he got into 9th Grade, which is during his teenage years, he became passionate about athletic involvement. He will only attend and participate in going to the Church once in a blue moon.

When he got into West Point (College), he began to sense on the need for spiritual. However, he couldn't find any of that as a Christian and began searching for spirituality. Soon after graduating, he got himself being the 2nd Lieutenant officer. And went to an ocean shore to celebrate being a new graduate with a bunch of friends. On the way back after celebrating, he had stopped by Washington D.C to visit one of his college drop-out friend. The meeting had led him to meet his friend's roommate. They were talking and somewhat led to a much more deeper conversation just because Captain Yee confronted him for his need in spirituality and that he somehow couldn't get that in Christianity. His friend's roommate later asked him whether he would take that Jesus not being the son of a God and that God is one. Captain James Yusuf Yee but of course, being a Christian right at the time were furious with the statement being asked. He was later being asked by another question from his friend's roommate, which was whether he knew anything about Islam for that is their belief. Still furious, he answered 'No' and showed some resentment in knowing. What made him caught off his guard was again due to another question that's being asked by the same person, "How can you judge something without even knowing facts about it ?". And then it hit him.

After that day, he went to a bookstore to get a book on Islam. And his first book in acknowledging him towards this one religion was called 'Understanding Islam'. He later got himself a second book, 'Islam in Focus' which explains more on the concept being practice by the Muslims. What amazed and anticipated him was the fact that Muslim also believes in Virgin Mary and Jesus. Just like Christian. And that Jesus is not the son of God, whereby, he is one of the great people in Islam. He would later learn about the other prophet such as Abraham, Moses, Noah, Adam, and et cetera. The fact that he found the prophets name familiar to what he already believes in because he'd learned that before during his days in the Youth group, made him realized Islam is a true religion. And that's when he accepted Islam and took the 'Syahadah' not to long after that. His parents, especially his mother thought nothing more about him being a Muslim then just a passing stage in his life. And that he would come out from his senses and got back in being a Christian.

Upon growing, he have always been living his life and classifying himself as a simple Christian. Nothing like his mother that goes to the Church frequently. Therefore, after he converted from being a Christian to a Muslim, he would still live his life as he would called a simple believer to Islam or a simple Muslim. He would learn and read about the pillars in Islam. About fasting on the month of Ramadhan, doing Hajj once in a lifetime and even about getting something back for the poor and the needy by doing 'Zakat'. He would also learn about other people that have already went for Hajj twice or more than once in their lifetime. And that some Muslims would be fasting on Monday and Thursday eventhough it's not in the month of Ramadhan. And he would said to himself that he would someday do Hajj once and fast only during the Holy month of Ramadhan and nothing more because he wants to be a simple Muslim.

After 5 months being a new Muslim, he was later assigned to be in Germany as an officer. Shortly after, the whole unit where been deployed to Saudi Arabia on the aftermath of 9/11. And they were there for 6 months. During their stay, there was one Saudi Cultural Centre that held out frequent dialogue on Saudi cultural and Islam. And they would spend most of their time there listening that soon after, 5 to 7 thousands of U.S. Army soldiers converted to Islam. There were also a Military memorandum in the centre. At one point, there was a memo informing that the Saudi Military will take the newly converted Muslims to go to Mecca for Umrah. Right then, who could believe how lucky Captain James Yusuf Yee was, because shortly right after he converted to Islam, that is, 5 months after, he was later on his way to do his Umrah.

Upon arriving, he had this usual Western way of thinking on how he would be different from the other Muslims people because he thought that Muslims are only for Arabs and that he would be unique once he reach Mecca. To his surprised, the first group he saw once he got into the 'Tanah haram' was an Asian group. And the ladies mostly wearing white hijab to cover up. It could be Malaysian or Indonesian, but what he had known for sure was that they are Asian people. And he was even surprised to see people of colours being in a one Holy place for one rightful reason, that is for the name of Allah S.W.T. He later met a group of people from America and was excited about it. They were students from Medina that came to do their Umrah. After being given a 4 day off, and benefited an eye-opening experience, he got back to his duty.

Back in his unit, there were a lot of Christian chaplain were instated. But neither one of them was a Muslim chaplain. Since there was no one at that time to represent the Muslim people in the U.S. Army, he had taught himself to be the first Muslim chaplain for the U.S. Army in later years. Which then led him into being the Muslim chaplain in Guantanamo Bay. Though he might not be the first Muslim chaplain, he had said to be proud of serving for the Muslim rights in the U.S. Army while he was on duty.

The continuation of the story would be on his experience being the Muslim chaplain at Guantanamo Bay. As it will reveal the hardship he had to go through and the pain some of the prisoners in Guantanamo Bay had to suffer. Which some, even up to this very day.

Hearing Captain Yee talking about his experience was an eye-opening once in a lifetime experience to me. I would consider myself one of the lucky person to hear this man talk. Because he gave me a memorable two talks. And this is such an enlightenment because I can see how these people who are not born Muslim being more overboard in their knowledge on Islam in comparison to the ones that were born Muslim like myself. It can be sometimes shameful too. Maa have this one Indian girl worker in the hospital that knows almost everything about Islam. And she even told Maa that she wanted to help and talk out of one of her college because the girl was going against every rule of Islam albeit she's a Muslim herself. And listen up, the indian girl is not YET a Muslim. I think it's amazing. And Maa have been trying to find her more books to understand more about Islam and been wanting to take her to meet our Ustaz Hussein Yee. I'll be praying for her to be more open-hearted to embrace Islam even more. And insyaAllah become one, one day.

Constraining thoughts

Najwa M's post entitled 'Questioning, Endlessly' is one of my favourite post from Bloggers. Something that I can relate to myself. Wearing hijab is obligatory. It's not something that you can pause and wait until the right time. Instead, it's something I need to force myself doing it so. Because that's the law. The law that I have always been feeling guilty for not obeying. I hope someday I'll have the guts to. I'm running out of time. And I don't want to be in denials any longer. It's unfair to myself and God.

And again relating to Najwa. Maa and Ayah always been reminding me to wear hijab. Never gets tired of it even. But I kept giving excuses after excuses (silently which makes me in denials). One thing I'm not proud of myself. Something that scares me to death, but I can't seem to take charge and change. It's frustrating to oneself talking about this. But I should be reminded often. And not move backwards.

InsyaAllah,

I'll be updating on this soon. A great night. Night like this makes me feel grounded and reminds me to always be grateful to Allah S.W.T. Not to forget being all ashamed to Him (because I am still going against His law). And InsyaAllah change for the better soon after. Really, I'm looking forward. What even stop me to begin with ? I know the answer and still struggling (in a way. Because I'm in denials. Astaghfirullahalazim) dealing with my own charges. It's the one thing I hope not to be the same in years to come. Because I've once said that I never like changes.

When I should be sleeping part II

Man ! I love her from the first day of her appearance in GG. I sounded lesbian don't I ? I mean I love Blair (Not a big fan of Serena or Jen). But I have always been more in love with thick dark hair girls. With that shimmering crystal blue eyes. Or is it green ? And that great to-die-for skin tone colour. She's naturally pretty.

Rendition of Paparazzi

I used to go gugu gaga on Audrey and Gamal's rendition of Lady Gaga (still am. Especially 'Telephone')while trying to find James Morrison and Nelly Furtado's, 'Broken Strings''s cover. And I once posted their video during my earlier days on Tumblr. Click here. Now it's Greyson Chance turn.

Not bad aye ? Not bad at all. Him singing it dramatically makes it more alluring to the ears. With the piano combination and all. I personally love it.

And Ellen recently call him up to be in her(him ?) show.

But who could forget this instead.

The first reason I'm star strucked, yet until to this day due to great updates after updates from this duo that you have got to keep loving them.

And obviously, girls are falling for Gamal. You can count me in :b Who can blame him for being so cute with a rare talent. Right ? I'm loving him even more with this.

Girlssssss, we have got to learn to share him okay. Haha.

When I should be sleeping

Have always been curious why westerners wear shoes inside their house. And I've finally came up with a simple answer on my own after all these years.

Since I've been working a lot around the house this past few weeks, I realized that my feet turned swollen because I was moving around too much. And the pain only managed to reduce after Maa asked me to wear a house slipper that she just bought for herself whenever she's on house duty (usually during weekends because she's working). I guess it make sense to me now. Whether or not it's true.

And so that's my only logic for most westerners that wear their slippers or shoes inside the house.

So, life as usual for me - which you should know if you've read my previous posts - been doing chores after chores. Considering how tired I am, I really need to treat myself with body massage this weekend. If I have the time to I will. I've been up to meet up with friends lately. I guess I miss them and needed some time off out from the house because I've been breathing in inside ventilated air. In which, not fresh at all. From all the sweeping and moping, I've been posses by dust mite. The one thing I'm allergic to the most. But everything work out fine in the end, because Maa usually took the time to thank me for keeping the house in great shape. It's always nice to feel appreciated by someone or anyone after you've done your best to help out or put an effort to care about something. Usually I'll end up holding in my tears when Maa said "Thank you sayang for helping out" because that's the best thing to hear after a long tiring day.

Yaya have been really busy for me lately. I felt left out sometimes because I miss talking to her and listening to her impractical silly jokes. I can't help but to make her up with my big grumpy face. It's like I'm telling her, "Give me some attention ! I need moral support for I am very exhausted !". But she usually end up being away from me even more. I guess she hates it when I'm fierce ? I guess I just needed someone to ask me, "Hey are you okay ?". Things like that. Now you know how I can be a sucker for attention. You may now call me 'the attention seeker' especially the fact that I needed more attention now because sometimes I feel like an outsider, or in a way, a 'bibik' for real. Can you blame me ? I guess a little maybe. But I think it's normal to feel that way especially since you're the only one who's been working out with the house work. Alone without any help from anyone. Except from Maa when she get's home from work or during weekends. As much as I love my siblings, they haven't been helping me at all. Spoilt little brats ! Hehe. I love them above all though. So I don't really mind them not helping. Besides, I'm doing this because I wanted to without being forced. But like I've said, a little attention would be nice, to let me know you actually care I'm doing what I am doing. But that doesn't make me not sincere in doing it. It's easy if you put it this way. When you said "Hii" to someone. You would appreciate them to answer back your greeting. Instead of them simply turn you off with a stingy look. Right ? So it's actually the same. Logic people. When you do something nice. You would love people to take note. But doesn't make you not sincere in doing it. I hope people will start to be nice. Not that they aren't. They could be nicer if they pay more attention, sensitive towards their surrounding and particular towards this small little things. Because things as small as this, can make a huge different to someone like me at the end of the day. From a huge cranky tired face to a huge smiley one. I guess I should thank Maa for always making my day by saying her thank yous. Love you Maa (:

I'm starting to feel a bit sleepy now. Guess I should turn off to bed. And let's hope I'll dream about Vanness Wu tonight. Yes, I'm not over him just yet. He's all I could think of right now. Night (:

A day with friends

Went to see Midzi and Jay yesterday at Oldtown White Coffee in Plaza Shah Alam besides Concorde Hotel. I had my usual Oldtown Lava Coffee ice-cream. In fact, I had two this time because I had a long talk with them, especially Midzi because Jay had to leave early to pick her mum up from work. Jay was trying to find a job earlier for her semester break because she decided that she needs money to splurge and spend on things and goodies. Being her, she's being too choosy over a temporary job. She secretly (not so secret anymore. It wasn't even a secret pun actually) told me that she had to go over and look for the other workers before she decided to work there. I'm not getting her. But that's her alright. She happens to be skeptical and empower with negativity on everything before she even gets to know someone or try something. She even used to hate me before we became closed friends. I used to teased her once about hating me before even getting to know me because I was trying to stop her from judging someone else that she barely even know. Later she goes "Haha. Alaa okay okay la". I know, cute ! I love her though. Because she is a really nice person despite her skeptic and negative empowerment. We all have our own flaws, common. Forgive her for having one.

If I have to list out one thing that I love about her, I have to say her sensitivity towards the world. She have always been very sensitive about the world biggest issue, which is having a peace world to live in. I remember like it was yesterday, she used to call me up and cried over something I'm not sure of what because I couldn't hear her because she was crying while talking. She said that there's a baby died in between the US war against Iraq. I'm not sure if she remembers this, but she told me that it's not fair for the baby. Right then, I knew that she has a great heart and a great person in and out. I'm truly honored to be friends with someone like her. It's hard to find true friends these days. You can have as many friends in your Facebook friend's list or your contact list, but true friends are hardly to be found. So, my advice to everyone, treasure the one that's been with you through everything. Uphill and downhill rides. Because they're the one that's true in being your true friends. They will never bail on you. And despite you will not always be seeing each other, you can still be the bestest of friend when you meet. Alhamdulillah, I've found mine. I even had a few. And I hope they'll remain the same. Maybe not physically, but deep down. Midzi was always one of them too. He's a great lad. Like I've said before, he too have his own flaws. But don't we all ? I can tell he's a great friend to me. He's been there, maybe not always, but through some difficult phases in my life, he's there. Always up to listen to everything that I have to say and tell. Not just that, he's great in comforting me while I'm crying. I can honestly say that, not everyone can stand me when I cry. It is something beyond my control. And you have to consider yourself lucky if I chose you to cry over to. Because I have only a few that can be trusted in seeing me crying. Anyway, I'm not sure how I went into this direction talking about friends and related subjects. This is absolutely spontaneous alright.

Okay anyway, back into the story. The night on the very same day where I went to see Midzi and Jay at the Oldtown White Coffee section 9, Zila, Jojie and Izil came down to my house to see me around right after Isya'. They planned to have a drink at Pak Li 7. And so, I don't have a heart to say no to them, since Jojie and Izil came all the way from KLIUC in Bangi to see Zila and me. I asked for Maa's permission to go with them. Maa being the best mother in the world said yes though it was almost too late for me to go out. Almost past my curfew. But she didn't hesitate to say yes when I asked her. Besides, I bet she knows it won't take me that long anyways because we're going to have a drink or two and update on things that I've been missing. It was a night filled with dramas as I was trying and helping Jojie and Zila to solves their relationship issues. Trying to help them to not point any fingers towards each other and just admit what they're done wrong to each other. I hope they'll stay strong to each other because they've gone through a lot. And I mean it, A LOT ! And I know better, that they love each other so much to just let it go now. That's a waste to me.

Okay lah, I think I've talked a lot already. I need to get on with my chores. Later readers.

Football blues

So Chelsea finally won the English Premier League two nights ago. Yayy ! (Cakap budget avid football fan) Okay can't help but to feel happy for Chelsea fans (Chelsea Chelsea ! Chelsea Chelsea ! Singing the blues team song). Because I'm actually one of them. Okay okay. Actually, I'm a first hand Man U fan. Chelsea is second in line. But yeah, that's mean I'm both teams supporters. Not a die-hard one though. I'm the one that will be cheering for them at the very end of the line. Quietly. Haha. Just because I know where I stand. I don't watch football that often. Sometimes. Okay fine. Sangat la jarang-jarang sekali. And I can be frankly honest that my knowledge on football is definitely below zero. But my guts have always been telling me to cheer for these two teams. Don't ask me why because I can never really answer you if you ask me.

One thing I can tell though, I have always been a fan of Beckham. And back in those days where he used to play for Manchester United, I started cheering for Man U because he was in the team. I guess, that's how I started officially cheering for Manchester United. And I remember Ayah once took us to see Manchester United playing against Malaysia when I was in standard 6 if I'm not mistaken. I can still remember, playing Destiny's Child's cassette on our way to see the game. Singing 'Bootylicious' and 'I'm a survivor'. Those were the days. I can still remember cheering for Beckham during the whole game and watching his every moves without knowing better. And that we had to leave early because my younger sisters bragged about going home because they're too young to understand my whole passion in watching Beckham playing live on the field. Haha. I used to be very passionate about football back then. Though I know nothing much. Thanks to Beckham. But Ayah didn't disappoint me for getting me home early. Ayah bought me a lot of Manchester United souvenirs right outside the stadium. Including a few posters of Beckham and the whole team. I can't be more happy then that because later I get to tell and brag to my friends about it. Budak-budak kan. Haha. And I remember back then, everytime I saw the Manchester United store (during that time, there's one in Lot 10 and One Utama) while we went for shopping, I'll tell Ayah to stop by to get something for me. Everytime ! Those were the days.

What ever it is, even after Beckham left Manchester United for Real Madrid ? (Am I right ? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Because this is what I imagine to remember knowing) , I'm proud to say that I'm still faithful in supporting Man U. And Beckham might not be the reason behind me cheering for the team in the first place. Maybe, I have always been a true Manchester United fan after all. If I'm allowed to put it that way. Haha. Can I ?

So, the moral of the story, follow your guts. Hahaha. My guts always been telling me to stick with Manchester United through it all (despite the long que of haterssssss. A lot !). And they told me to be a Chelsea fan too. I don't choose to be one. Some things comes naturally as it is. Without being forced to. That is all I can concluded about me being those two teams supporters. Anyway, FIFA World Cup is coming soon. Guess which teams I've been supporting since the last FIFA tournament ?

Random Updates

Yesterday, I took the time to have lunch with two of my favourite girls, Manda and Zainab a.k.a Jay. Haven't seen them in ages. Well, truthfully, it's been a month and a half for Manda, and many many months which I already lost count with Jay. I miss both of them dearly. Especially Jay. Though I consider her as one my closest bestest friend, we don't really get to talk that much ever since she left to study in Unimas, Sarawak. We don't do much phone conversation either because we were never the kind of people who loves to talk on the phone. So, as to that, reunion like this makes it more special because we would talk a lot to update on every single thing that's been happening in our lives.

I was a bit nervous at first, since we haven't been really talking. You know how time can change people. I was hoping that it won't be as awkward as it should normally be. But then, nature takes it place, and we started spilling everything. It was fun and I wish we have more time. And I guess, that's one of the reason we are the bestest of friend. As for Manda, I'm glad she seems okay. I know it's been hard for her since her mummy died early this year. Especially hard since it's Mother's Day today. She told me and Jay that she cried the night before because she kept thinking about her mother. But the warmth in her face and her cheekiness during our meet up session was entirely different from what she prescribes herself to be the night before. I know she's trying to be strong and once in awhile, I think it's normal for her to break down. It's natural and perfectly normal to my understanding because I did that too sometimes eventhough I still have my Maa with me. I wouldn't know how to be her, honestly. As to that, I think she's so amazing for being in her state. And I hope she knows I'll be here for her if she needs anything.

So, as I was saying, we went for lunch in Subang. I was up for Chillis. But then again, they don't have Chillis around Subang. So, Jay suggested that we should go for Kenny Roger's. So we eventually said yes. I haven't had those in what, 5 to 6 years ? Really. It's been that long. I had their muffins last month maybe, but I haven't been eating any other than their muffins in years. So maybe that's why I said yes instantly. So off we go to Subang Parade (SP), one of my favourite places to go to get things from groceries (We don't have Cold Storage in Shah Alam. Used to), traditional clothing, cds, magazines (SP MPH provides better option compared to SA's) and etc. But by the time we got around SP, we decided to go to Empire Shopping Gallery (which is right across SP) instead especially after noticing Chillis signage to be there. Since the thought of experiencing the newest mall in Subang to be off the hook, I agreed with Manda's idea. Jay and I decided, that this got to be our new favourite place to hang after we went wandering all over the mall. It may not be as big as One Utama Shopping Mall, Mid Valley Megamall, Pavillion KL, Sunway Pyramid or even Subang Parade. But we agreed that it was great enough for us because of the distance and we're loving the great options in clothing. My type of clothing that is. There's a few boutiques that caught me off my guard. I went mad with quite a few choices. Manda and Jay had to forbid me from over spending. So I have to thank both of them for doing it so. Haha.

So, we actually went for lunch first before we went hunting for clothes. Turns out, Chillis wasn't even open yet. Instead of wasting time wandering around to find another place to have our lunch, we got back to our second choice, which was Kenny Roger's since they have it there too in Empire Shopping Gallery. Made a pit stop at Shijokuyo (? I guess. I can't really remember what was it again.) to get my usual Pino and Coolis (Just because they reminded me of Norie (My long lost Japanese mother during my TSIE days because she used to feed me with lots of these kinds of ice-cream right after I got back from school). Yes, I have my desserts first this time. Because I've been missing and craving for those ice-creams again. Luckily they have it there too (Now you know why I love the place so much). I have to say, I'm glad we had Kenny Roger's for lunch. Because man ! , I forgot how tasty it was for me back then because I had a very satisfying meal that day.

I end up going back with just Jay to accompany me because Manda's boyfriend went to pick her up because she had to go somewhere right after. After Jay and I left Subang, we went for a quick stop to SACC to buy Mother's Day card for our Mumsy before I sent Jay back home and call it a day.

Anyway, what ever it is, I promise myself to get my butt down to Empire Shopping Mall again soon because I have so many listed things to buy there. Hihi. I made the list right after I got back home (Teruk teruk !). But too my surprise, the list of books top it off than the other unnecessary things this time. Bagus la kan ?

As for today, Happy Mother's Day Maa ! I hope you love the card and the certificate. I wanted to take you out today for you to choose your own present because I really don't know what to get for you. But there weren't much time especially with the remaining housework to do at home after we got back from Ustaz's. Which by the way reminds me, Ustaz talked about the Japanese people today. Which by the way, I have to agree a hundred and ten percent on it (if that's possible). Ustaz said that 75% of the Japanese people characteristics are the way of Islam. They're humble, polite, very very very clean, friendly, trustworthy and I would say more if I can think of it now. Since I've been to Japan twice, and I've once lived with a Japanese family myself, I have to really agree on this.

Once during the family and I took a 12 days vacation in Japan, we went to Tokyo Disneyland as one of our itineraries there. One of the family that went there with us accidentally left out their camera somewhere in the Disneyland compound after we got out from the Disneyland main gate. As we all would already know, it would be possible for the family to get their camera back because that's how things would work in Malaysia. Once you left your valuable things somewhere, you will never get it back. Maa once accidentally left her BB at a restaurant. And when she tried to get it back after a few minutes of noticing that she had left it, it wasn't there anymore and no one knows about where it went to. Because no one cares to take notice and trustworthy enough to admit they took it. Now that's Malaysian. To our surprised, the family got their camera back eventhough they had lost it for a few hours before noticing. It was still in the same place as they had left it. From that day on, we know how trustworthy Japanese can be. As for being very very very clean, it was crystal clear for us to see from the first day we got to Japan. Even the big city is clean from trash or debris. I have got to really admire that because I hate when my friends came up with stupid reasons to throw their trash all around and littering even when I asked them not to. I personally think they're being unreasonably selfish and stupid. I'm not going to apologize for being this honest because I know I'm right. As for friendly, my host family and Nanryo Junior High School students have always been so friendly to me and the other TSIE participants. I never wanted to leave because it always felt like home with them. And I've been missing Norie's cooking and the family's hospitality ever since. Japanese are never rude. At least from my experience they never were. Not even once. They talk in a very moderate soft tone. Even the guys. I remember back then, after I got back from Japan with the family, while we were moving our bags to the car, we saw this one Malaysian taxi driver talking to a foreigner with a very harsh tone. He was practically screaming to the foreigner. And I remember the family being all ashamed with the driver's attitude because that's definitely not a good first impression to welcome outsiders to Malaysia. Right then, we compared how entirely different it was Malaysian culture and the Japanese. I have to say, the family value the trip to Japan more compared to the other countries we've been to. Ayah even once said that he would love to live in Japan. And during our way back home from Ustaz's today, Ayah told Yaya to get a Japanese boyfriend. Haha.

I guess I've talked enough. Before I end this post, again, Happy Mother's Day to Maa and all the mothers in the world. You're amazing the way you are and for loving us above all other reasons. Maa, thanks for always being there for me and the others. I can't thank you enough because my thank yous are never going to be enough in comparison with what you had done and sacrifice for us all. I know you've said those words you've said before because you want me to be better because you love me. I truly understand that. Your words of wisdom are the greatest treasure to me. And I hope you won't stop giving any of that because I need that to remind myself from getting out of line. I love you and I hope Allah will bless you with a long healthy life because we will be needing you for the rest our lives. Amin. Endless love from a daughter, Lisa.

Hang over

Well hello again, 2 straight days with a post. That's rare
kan ? Anyway, just a thought, I feel funny sometimes for asking and talking with who-knows-who-read-my-blog-maybe-no-one. But I guess, I was actually intended talking to myself instead. Because I read my blog everyday. So full of myself right ? There I go again asking myself right or kan. Funny. Let's laugh ! Hahahaha. Okay stop ! Dah macam orang gila dah.

Moving on...

As usual, my day was filled with tons of housework load. But no I'm not tired just yet. I'm not sure why, but I'm on to blog about something. Nothing specific though. Might just try and be spontaneous about the whole thing. Fast fingers moving. I guess I'm doing good at being spontaneous now.

Let see, what did I do today ? Wash everbody's undergarments with my hands - Memang rajin -, wash sibling's school uniforms, again with my barenaked hands - Clap, clap ! -, wash the rest of the clothes using washing machine - Easy schmeasy kacang goreng one - , hang out clean washed clothes - As usual, Kenit (My biggest helper, Baby/Bambi/Cotton = My fat baby cat)menyibuk tolong tengok. -, indulge the rest of the remaining chocolates parents bought from Perth - Which is the meal of the day -, drool on Vanness Wu - Cannot tahan ! Heart beat faster ! *Dubdabdubdab* -, ironing clothes while drooling - because I was watching Vanness Wu while ironing -, folded clean washed clothes - rajin anak dara ni kan ? -, sweeping the floors - Paling easy to do. Don't need credits for it :b -, chauffeur-ing for the day - bukan jadi bibik je, driver pun sekali. Rajinn rajinnnn -, get a phone call from Manda - I miss her btw ! -, ate Almondy daim cake - again, chocolate base. Memang hantu cokelat ! -, sweeps off the dry leaves off the pavement - Hehe puji la pls !? -, ate Ramli burger - Never satisfied with only one. So two ? - and here I am. Feeling a lot hyper than usual. Too many chocolates perhaps ?

I feel so happy today. And I know why. Got this happy shot by injecting the quirky happy non-stop feelings from 'Autumn's Concerto'. Can't help it. I loveeeeeeeeeeee the ending ! Love love love love love ! - Batak. Pardon me. - I have always been in love with happy endings. Because it's happy. And you can't help but to feel happy too - Tumpang gembira faham ? - Stories with happy endings are definitely good for me. I'm going to take note. Next time when I'm feeling not at my best, I know what to look out for. Stories with happy endings. Yeay ! Problem solved. See how happy I am ?

So this past few days. It's all about 'Autumn's Concerto', Vanness Wu, Memoirs of Geisha (novel), Vanness Wu, My Name is Khan (Love it !), Dear John the movie, Vanness Wu and The Back-Up Plan. The treatment I got for myself for being so good in doing the house chores. Don't I deserved it ? Absolutely ! So a total of 21 episodes of 'Autumn's Concerto' which I had just finished watching today. It was another fantastic-lutely great taiwan series. The eye candy, Mr Wu himself as the main cast. Droollls. I don't know why I am so happy. Maybe like I've said, I love happy endings. And I'm satisfied with the ending it gave to the viewers. So full of love compassion. OMG ! Ridiculous right ? I'm so into lovey dovey mood, but I don't have any boyfriend to share the passion to. Sedihnya ): At times like this, I feel like having one myself. Apa boleh buat. Sudah nasib badan.

What ever. Not going to stop my mood on being in love. At least I have Vanness Wu to dream on with (You may get yourself a bucket to puke). He's way gorgeous than before. Weird, mata sepet yang tak nampak hape pun bila senyum, tapi boleh juga tergoda in the end. I was never a big fan. Back then, it was always Dao Ming Si and Hua Zhe Lei. Okay you don't get me right ? (Zaman 'Meteor Garden'). But yeah, now I'm a Wu fan. See how easily attached and amused I am with something or someone new that attracts me ? Because I remember just a few weeks ahead, I was all over Kim Beom. And look to whom this leads to now, Vanness Wu. Haih. So cliche of me. But trust me, it didn't take that long before I finally parted for goodbye and say hello to something or someone new. At least until I was reminded by it all over again. Haha. Well I hope you know what I mean. Tengah in the mood merepek. I believe by now, my friends would know that I can be very instant in liking things or someone, but then, it took me lesser time than it should for me to forget that thing or someone.Does that makes me very unworthy on being loyal ? Hmmm.

(Pause momentarily - Alonn menyibuk ajak borak - )

Back again.

So I read about Glee Flash Mob on KLue online page. Decided to join earlier and register myself in. Later, I heard Meliaa on Facebook probably seeking someone to go with her. Maybe ? And I got excited because I weren't planning to go with anyone just yet. Just gatal sangat register je dulu because I'm quite a big fan of the show myself.
And hearing from her makes me happy to have someone to go with to. Meliaa sounds excited too at first. But then both of us went silent. I didn't bother asking because I was too busy with housework. I know I won't have enough time to practice anyway.I didn't even get to finished watching the instructional video as my Broadband always been a jerk this past few months. Time to change to Streamyx all over again I guess. So there goes my chance making fun of myself infront of other people. However, I still think this should be great. But my last chance to get the hang and practice with the others who will be joining was today at 8 p.m. So that's definitely past tense. So bubye hopes and dreams. Haha poyo jangan layan.

Okaylah, I think I'm getting tired being all mabuk and hype about this post that's going nowhere.Pointless. So, I'll be continuing later. When I'm less gibberish.Au revoir.

P/S : I might edit this post if I turn sober and not liking what I've had posted.

What I've been up to.

So Hii,

I think it's been awhile that I actually have the willingness to update on what's been happening in my life. Haven't been up to talk about it. First reason, I was sick. But I'm feeling all better now. Alhamdulillah. I have to blame the weather on being regularly sick. It's rainy and hot at the same time. Have been for quite awhile that I can't seem to remember since when. I sweat even while washing the dishes. Imagine that. Bahang all over the house. Anyway, the second reason, there's nothing interesting to talk about perhaps. Not on me. But I can tell you that I've been a full time house maid for the past 3 weeks since Kak Dari left for her country. As much as I miss her, I'm glad I have this chance helping out around the house. Because then only I know how to appreciate a house maid work. Though I have to admit sometimes I get so cranky not because of the work to be done but because I was annoyed by the weather. And I have to tell you it's been tiring because of it. Maa help out a lot during the first week, because she decided to not go to work for a week to train me at home on what to do. Actually I already knew everything that I needed to do. It's not that I never did any of those work before. It's just I never care to because Kak Dari was always there to do it. So now, being the eldest and the unemployed student or worker, I took the responsibility to give a hand in the house.

So, what happened to my first job with Ayah ? Let just say that it ends here. Besides, I haven't been to the office for quite awhile ever since before Kak Dari left us. I will only assist Ayah to the ground project site once in awhile to have a look at it. But that's about it. Most of the workers didn't need my help anymore that I end up working at home. Accompanying my siblings and being their chauffeur whenever Uncle Burn and Ayah are not around. Because there's more thing to help out at home than in the office. And since I don't have my own place in the office, I decided I can do my work as much as I was in the office by just being at home. Then, it's way easier for me to move around and fetch my siblings in between they needed to be fetch.

Anyway, aside from being the new house maid. I finished read a few books. One of them was 'Dear John'. And I have to admit I love it I love it I love it ! Though I didn't quite like the ending. Nicholas Sparks way of writing the whole story makes it all worth it. Not that I wouldn't have known. I mean I read 'At First Sight' and 'A Walk To Remember' before. So I know what to expect from Sparks. But this is by far the best novel I've ever read. He's brilliant as a writer and it took me 8 straight hours to finish reading it. And I didn't sleep for it because I started reading at 10 p.m. But I got distracted through finishing it, around 4 a.m. because I talked to Alonn on the phone. We haven't been talking in so many weeks. So yea, he texted me at 4 freakin a.m. that I decided to just call him instead of texting because I was too lazy for text messaging. Our conversation didn't last that long before I could finish up with my reading. But when it did, I couldn't much sleep because I was too excited with the book. But eventually I dozed off to sleep anyway for 3 hours before I got up as I had work to do around the house. So there you go. My life for these past few weeks. I guess you get the picture now. Not much. But that's me, always been not that much anyway.

Speaking of which me being not that much, this should be much for me. I will be going to Bali with my cousin, Syasha and her friend, Syahira this 20th. Can't wait for that. As for my diving trip with le friends. It didn't quite sorted out the way we planned it. First, I got sick during the time planned. Second, we couldn't find any other dates to replace it. Because we're all busy with our own things. You know, them with school and work. Me being the house keeper. So there you go. No diving trip for me. Boohoo ! I hope Ayah will plan out another diving trip with the family by the end of this year. Because I'm really looking forward to upgrade my license.

I guess that's about it. I would love to talk more. On the movies I've been watching and the other books that I've read. Oh and my love for Korean/Taiwan series too. But I'll leave that to the next coming post. Until then, go read other people's blog. Haha. Night.

Guys I love

So I thought of warming up first before I can type everything in automatic pilot mode in my next post. This is yet another unnecessary post where I'm about to ramble a wee bit about guyssss. Just a weeeee bit (with my point finger and thumb indicating how little or short this might get). As to warn you readers, be patient with me here because I might get a wee bit excited talking about boys that I highly adore. HIGHLY. Very highh ! -__- Okay. Maybe.

This is the newest guy on my list. Hehe, Alex O'Loughlin. Caught myself pumping really hard for oxygen after watching him in 'The Back-Up Plan'. He's a stunner ! Man, those biceps (watch the movie !), can they be more, ummphhh !!! Haha. So yea, I don't really admit this as much because I don't really look for them on men. I usually like guys with medium built. But, man you Alex, you're something something ! Not that there's a word to describe. Though I'm actually going nuts over him now, at the moment, reversing his image in the movie on and on, I'm not sure how far as I can get to have the adrenalin liking him without being in the movie. You know, when you actually fall for the character instead of the actual person, the actor. What everr. Not that it's all that important. Skip skip.

Most guys are better off with short hair. In my opinion. Nice clean cut is the best way to impress me. Not that I don't like guys with longer hair or messy hair. It's just that, not all guys can pull it off without looking sleek. Anyways, I'm not all choosy when it comes to guys. I do select guys with my best interest, but I don't go and date them with too many rules beforehand. There are rules, but it's best for me to say that I don't always go with my rules when I'm actually falling for them. Haha. Too easy to be impressed by. There go my weakness open for the world to know. The rules are a matter of guidelines in case I have better option actually. Ceyyyy ! Banyak ke option awak. Mmg perasan sangat dah ni.

Next, the guy that can work both ways, charmingly romantic and funny at the same time. I have to admit, he's not a pretty boy. But that's what I like about him. His quirky looking. And that's what I have been falling for him all along. I must say, I started liking him after watching Disney Channel Original Movie, 'Tru Confessions'. He played Eddie who has a mental disability. It is one of my favourite movie ever since. Not just because of Shia, but for the story behind the movie itself that moves me.

Notice that every pictures of Shia comes with him wearing his beard ? Don't they look good on him ? Sexy in a way ? Haha. Some guys look better with and without a beard. Just like Shia. But I guess I like him better with it because he looks more manly. Still, doesn't hide his quirkiness.

Is it weird for me to like this next guy ?

So yea, it's none other Dane Cook. I'm not sure why I like him though. But he's good looking with a cap on. Kan kan kan ? No ?

And then there's Dax Shepard. Common, you have to like him. After all, he dated hottie Kate Hudson before. And now, he's engaged to Kristen Bell. I mean, he proves that you don't have to be all that good looking to hit with one of the hottest girl in town. Plus, him wearing a space suit in 'Zathura' was 'boleh-tahan-good-looking-juga'. Hihi (gelak paling gedik)

Dax Shepard together with Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook in 'The Employee of The Month"

With Kristin Bell tersayang.

Okay ni silap. This is Zach Braff. Which actually look a lot like Dax especially in this picture. Zach Braff pun okay what. Apparently though, not in my list.

Okay there's obviously ramai lagi. But warming up this long makes me sleepy and tired. Haha. So much for warming up kan ?
